Rutland democrats to elect delegates to state convention

Rutland democrats will hold a caucus at Community Hall, 250 Main St., on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. to elect four delegates and four alternates to the 2017 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women and all ballots will be written and secret.

The convention will be held on Saturday, June 3 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Rutland. Those not elected as delegate or alternate who meet the qualifications may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority, and disabled.

Discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, sexual orientation or economic status in the conduct of the caucus is strictly prohibited.

Individuals wishing to run as delegates or vote at the caucus must be registered Democrats by Dec. 31, 2016. For caucus information contact chair Ken Lowe at 508- 886-4811.
