Special Town Meeting scheduled for Februar y

A Special Town Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb 27, 2017 at the Wachusett Regional High School. Articles within the warrant will ask voters to authorize the town manager to accept a donation of the property, 18 Industrial Drive, a spot which town officials are hopeful will become the site of the new DPW facility.

New residents may register to vote during the regular town hall hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon. The last day to register to vote is Friday, Feb. 17. On that date the town clerk’s office will remain open until 8 p.m.

New residents may also register to vote by mail. Forms are available at post offices, the Gale Free Library and the state election web page, http://www.sec.state. ma.us/ele/eleidx.htm or, call the town clerk’s office and request that a form be mailed out. Please complete the form in full and return to the town clerk’s office by the registration deadline of Feb. 17. The completed voter registration form can either be mailed or hand delivered to the town clerk’s office.

A new voter registering by mail or through the Registry of Motor Vehicles will receive a written acknowledgment from the town clerk’s office within 10 days of receipt of the form in the town clerk’s office. For more information call the town clerk’s office at 508-210- 5530.
