Brush burning season

Open brush burning season is Jan. 15 through May 1. A valid permit obtained (online or in person) from the Holden Fire Department is required. Firefighters will conduct spot checks during burning season. Open burning begins at 10 a.m. All fires should be extinguished by 4 p.m. Fire Chiefs reserve the right to deny open burning on any day due to weather or environmental conditions. Permits are $20 for the season and can be purchased online or at Fire Headquarters from 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily through May 1.
